Leopardstown Jumps Festival
31st January 2012Leopardstown played host to great jumps racing at the weekend. The weather didn’t dampen the spirits of the big crowd who turned out. On Saturday Katie Walsh rode Seabass to victory in the Grade A Leopardstown Handicap Chase. A great family victory as her father, Ted Walsh, is the trainer. There were two Grade 1’s on Sunday’s card. Hurricane Fly took the BHP Insurance Irish Champion Hurdle, under Ruby Walsh and trained by Willie Mullins. While Flemenstar, trained by Peter Casey and ridden by A E Lynch, took the earlier Grade 1, the Frank Ward Solicitors Arkle Novice Chase. Peter Casey’s colourful chat with Tracy Piggot has captured more attention than most of the weekends racing!
Connolly’s RED MILLS would like to congratulate all the winners from the Leopardstown January jumps festival, especially Peter Casey, Willie Mullins and Ted Walsh.
