Reed Kessler Joins Connolly's RED MILLS

08 April 2016

Irish-owned horse feed company Connolly’s RED MILLS have announced a new nutritional partnership with one of America’s brightest young showjumping stars, Reed Kessler.

Reed Kessler - RED MILLS AmbassadorBorn in New York and now based in The Netherlands, Kessler became the youngest ever Showjumping Olympian when she represented the USA at London 2012, aged just 18.

Reed took her place on the American team having won the US Olympic trials and she also scored World Cup wins the same year at Lexington and Washington.

Speaking following the announcement, Kessler said: “I love RED MILLS for a multitude of reasons. First and most importantly, my horses love it! Second, I travel a lot and it's hard on the horses to constantly switch brands of feed available in different countries. RED MILLS has gone global, meaning my horses can enjoy the same feed whether they are at home in Holland or competing back in Kentucky.”

In 2013 Kessler added her name to the list of winners of the Queen Elizabeth II Cup in Calgary and also finished as runner-up in the five-star Grand Prix Saut Hermes in Paris. Later the same year she was awarded the Longines Rising Star award.

Gareth Connolly, Sales and Marketing Director with RED MILLS said: “We are looking forward to working with Reed Kessler throughout the year. She is a great addition to our team of RED MILLS Ambassadors who benefit from our global network of distributors and nutritional support throughout the season.”

Meanwhile, as the Longines Global Champions Tour season gets underway this weekend in Miami Beach in Florida, Connolly’s RED MILLS have been confirmed as the official Feed Supplier to the LGCT events at Miami Beach, Mexico and Shanghai – cementing RED MILLS global appeal. Four RED MILLS ambassadors line out in Miami - Edwina Tops-Alexander, Scott Brash and Irish pair Bertram Allen and Darragh Kenny.

Nia O’Malley, Equine Nutritionist with RED MILLS added, “A consistent diet is key for world-class competitors regardless of the country or climate they are competing in. Our unique packaging technology of our performance feeds allow us to provide this consistency to riders worldwide.”
