Lauren Hough and Lady Davos Win 7 & 8 Year Old International Final

One of America's top showjumping stars, Lauren Hough, claimed the Connolly’s RED MILLS 7 & 8 Year Old International Final at the RDS today, after a brilliant performance with the eight year-old mare Lady Davos.

Twenty of the sports most promising young horses lined out in the main arena having come through two qualifiers on Wednesday and Friday at the Ballsbridge venue.

Hough and Lady Davos (Canturo x Berlin/Casper) were one of six combinations who made it through to the jump-off where they produced the winning double clear round in 41.86 seconds.

Kamil Papousek from the Czech Republic finished as runner-up with Flying, while Michael Pender was the best-placed Irish rider, filling third place on the podium with the Irish Sport Horse HHS Hercules. Philip McGuane finished fourth with LVS Wizard (ISH), just ahead of Neal Fearon in fifth with Billy On Time. 

RED MILLS  Ambassador Edwina-Tops Alexander completed the top six with the very promising seven year-old Toulon mare, Veronese Teamjoy.

Along with a very generous prize-fund and a tonne of Connolly's RED MILLS Horse Care 10, the winning owner received The “John Higgins” Memorial Perpetual Challenge Trophy, while The “Corry” Perpetual Challenge Trophy will be presented to the rider of the winning horse.

This is the fourth year that Connolly’s RED MILLS have sponsored this prestigious competition, which features the top 20 combinations from Ireland, who are joined at the Dublin Horse Show by up to 24 additional International entries from around the world.
