Laura Hoey MSc. Eq. Science 

Laura Hoey - Equine NutritionistLaura studied Equine Science at the University of Limerick, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in 2009. She then went on to spend two years working with race horses in Melbourne, Australia. 
 
One of her greatest achievements while there was being given primary responsibility for an eight year old stallion Winchester, who went on to run in the 2012 Melbourne Cup.
 
Laura later returned to Ireland to complete a Masters in Applied Equine Science in the University College Dublin, graduating in 2014.  As part of her Masters she carried out research looking at potential causes of Angular Limb Deformities in foals. 
 
In 2014, Laura joined the Connolly’s RED MILLS Technical Support Team in the UK. She has a particular interest in performance nutrition, both in the thoroughbred and sport horse industry.

Every horse owner appreciates the delicate nature of the horse’s gut. Gastric ulceration is a widespread condition which unfortunately seems to affect mainly adult horses in high performance work.
