Join Maria Dagg and John Geoghegan at Enniscorthy for the semi-finals of the Connolly's RED MILLS Future Champion Unraced Stake. Bigwood Pitstop, a 5/1 outsider, had a trap to victory in the opening heat to stop the clock in 29.49. Razldazl Allstar came from the proverbial next parish to take the second heat in a slightly faster 29.37. Watch as we spoke to the connections, Alan O'Shea, Harry Seery, Seamus "Shanks" Whelan, Liam Marks, and Eugene Price. The final is down for decision next Monday night at the Ross Road circuit and it certainly looks to be a wide open contest..

Razldazl Allstar produced the fastest time of the round, 29.11, Maysmorningrun kept her unbeaten tag when scoring in 29.15, while Jump Up Johnny did likewise when leading from pillar to post in 29.77 and Piercestown Tan over turned the favourite in the opening heat when he won in 29.42. €12,000 RED MILLS Unraced Stake Semi-Finals

Join Maria Dagg and John Geoghegan at Curraheen Park for the semi-finals of the €12,000 Connolly's RED MILLS Unraced Stake. The opening heat went to the 16 month old, Coolavanny Pet, in 28.50, and the second qualifier was won by the 19 month old Burgess Dubh in 28.42. Both winners came from behind. Express Crystal landed the 2016 RED MILLS Unraced Bitch Final at Youghal, Tim O'Keeffe's, August 2014 bitch by Droopys Scolari out of Express Berry, won impressively stopping the clock in a fast 29.36.

2016 Witches Belle- Youghal Presentation

Witches Belle began her racing career at Youghal on the 19th of June 2015 in the RED MILLS Unraced Bitch Stake. A year later she was crowned The 2016 Sporting Press Irish Oaks winner at Shelbourne Park. To mark this fantastic achievement, her connections, Edel and Liam Twomey were honoured with a presentation in their local track on the opening round of this years competition. Liam tells us how he got the bitch and gives us an insight into his long term plans.

Owen McKenna produced a brilliant one two to land the 27th running of the Connolly's RED MILLS Champion Unraced Stake at Kilkenny. Sober Call stopped the clock in a fast 28.91 on to night to get the better of his more fancied kennel companion, Ballymac Tomasso.

Following the presentation, we caught up with the winning connections, but before the final Maria Dagg went for a stroll through the large attendance to get their views on the likely outcome of the race.

Headford Maura produced a fantastic trap to line success to land the final of the Connolly's RED MILLS and Newbridge Track Supporters Club Unraced Bitch Stake in 28.74.

The daughter of Premier Fantasy and Lacken Rua will now be aimed at the Puppy Oaks in Shelbourne Park. She is owned in partnership by Seamus Leahy and Gerry Dillon. Maria Dagg spoke to Seamus following the presentation and we also had a word with the breeder, Tom Lennon.

Watch the semi-finals of the 2016 Connolly's RED MILLS amd Newbridge Track Supporters Club Unraced Bitch Stake, Headford Maura kept her unbeaten tag by winning the first heat in 29.14. 

Airmount Dvinsky took the second qualifier in 29.08, and following the heats we spoke to the connections, Seamus Leahy, Kevin Loughnane, John Kennedy, Gerry Kiely and Stephen Burke.

Location: Newbridge Greyhound Stadium

Join Maria Dagg and John Geoghegan for the second round of the Connolly's RED MILLS and Newbridge Track Supporters Club Unraced Bitch Stake. It carries a first prize of 5,500 Euro to the winner.

The litter sisters, Headford Maura, 28.67, and Headford Fantasy, 28.97, once again stole the show, and Christine's Bink won the other heat in 29.13, and following the heats we spoke to the winning connections. 

We spoke to Martin Sweeney and Caroline Collins from the Newbridge Supporters Club, John and Paul Troy, the owners of the Irish Cup winner, Foot Solution, and we had a look at Badminton Maid's pups, and her owner David McGrath brought us up to speed on future plans.

Join Maria Dagg and John Geoghegan at Newbridge for the third running of the Connolly's RED MILLS and Newbridge Track Supporters Club Unraced Bitch Stake. It carries a first prize of €5,500 to the winner, and this years renewal looks to produce more top class bitches.

Seamus Leahy produced a double on the night with the litter comrades Headford Maura 29.00 and Fantasty 29.15. Droopys Merc won the opening heat in 29.37. Darfin Angel won her heat in 29.84 and the final heat went to Sandyhill Diana in 29.36, and following the heats Maria caught up with the winning connections.

2016 RED MILLS and TSC Open Final

Location: Clonmel Greyhound Stadium

Coolavanny Wendy, trained by Frazer Black, used his outside draw to full advantage to claim the 2016 running of Connolly's RED MILLS and Track Supporters Club Unraced Stake at Clonmel in a fabulous 28.35. The Kildare trainer previously won the event back in 2013 with Ashford Castle. 

Following the presentation we spoke to the winning trainer and also had a word with the winning owner, Mark Lowther, and John Geoghegan gave us the inside track on a new unraced stake for Curraheen Park.

2016 RED MILLS and TSC Open Unraced Semi-Finals

Location: Clonmel Greyhound Stadium

Running under his new name, Boylesports Duke thrilled the Clonmel attendance in the semi finals of the Connolly's RED MILLS and Track Supporters Club Unraced Stake. The Dolores Ruth trained pup stopped the clock in a brilliant 28.42.

The second semi-final went the way of Airmount Tess, the July bitch is another for the future as Gerry Kiely's charge won the second semi-final in 28.89. Following the heats we spoke to Dolores Ruth, Larry Buggy, Ger Langton, Gerry Kiely and Frazer Black.

2016 RED MILLS and TSC Open Unraced Round 3

Date: 17 January 2016
Location: Clonmel Greyhound Stadium

It was certainly a night of upsets in the quarter finals of the Connolly's RED MILLS and Track Supporters Club Unraced Stake at Clonmel. Three of the four money on shots were beaten in their respective heats, but they all managed to qualify for the semi-finals, and they will certainly be looking to get back on track next Sunday night.

The bitches certainly came out on top with three of the four heats going to the fairer sex, following the heats Maria Dagg spoke to the winning connections, Ger Langton, Larry Buggy, Michael Lonergan and Gerry Kiely.

2016 RED MILLS and TSC Open Unraced Round 2

Location: Clonmel Greyhound Stadium

Watch the second round heats of the Connolly's RED MILLS and Track Supporters Club Unraced Stake from Clonmel, Razldazl Duke turned in a scintillating performance to stop the clock in a fantastic 28.37. His litter brother, Razldazl Tierna, collected in 28.68 to give Dolores Ruth a double in round two.

Pat Buckley won the opening heat in 28.98 with Jumeirah Delboy. Coolavaney Wendy, trained by Frazer Black stayed on strongly to win heat 2 in 29.06. The homebred Shaneboy Style won in 29.23 and Colarhouse Jim showed lots of early gears to win his heat in 28.91. Following the heats Maria Dagg caught up with the winning connections, Dolores Ruth, Pat Buckley, Frazer Black, Michael Kiely, and Tommy Dunford.

Join Maria Dagg and John Geoghegan to watch the opening round of the 2016 RED MILLS and TSC Open Unraced Stake from Clonmel. The competition continues to produce future stars and this years renewal certainly looks to be in the same vein.

Razldazl Tierna (Mar '14) recorded the fastest heat on the night, 28.53, and his litter comrade, Razldazl Ri, completed a double for trainer, Dolores Ruth. The John Linehan trained, Broadstrand Post (May '14), opened the night with his 28.73 victory. Graham Holland won last years competition with Ballydoyle Honey.

This year Colarhouse Jim (Sept '13) carrys the flag, and he collected his heat in 28.83. The only bitch to collect on the night was Mary Buggy's home bred youngster, Kilgraney June (July '14). The well bred Coolavanny Wendy (Jan '14) trained by Frazer Black won in 28.99. Jumeirah Delboy (Mar '14), trained by Pat Buckley won in 29.13 and the final heat went to the Suzanne O'Neill trained Kilara Blake (Apr '14) in 29.14.
