Open Unraced Bitch Stake at Newbridge

30 March 2015

A fantastic crowd turned out on Friday 27 March at Newbridge Greyhound Track for the final of the Connolly’s RED MILLS and Newbridge Track Supporters Club Open Unraced Bitch Stake.

In the end it was the David McGrath owned, and Donal Murphy trained, Badminton Maid who took the final in a fantastic time of 28.44.

After the race a delighted David McGrath thanked Connolly’s RED MILLS and the Newbridge Track Supporters Club for their support of this highly competitive competition. David can now look forward to more exciting nights and in time hopefully a successful breeding career with this talented bitch.

Trainer Donal Murphy later highlighted the puppy oaks as a possible target for Badminton Maid and on the back of last Friday’s performance she will go there with a great chance.

Later in the night we caught up with Martin Sweeney and Caroline Collins from the Newbridge Track Supporters Club. Both were delighted with how the competition had gone and in particular the exciting final we had just witnessed.

Next up is the Connolly’s RED MILLS Unraced 525 in Kilkenny on 3 May which includes a €1000 bonus if the winning greyhound is purchased in the 11 April sales meeting.

This promises to be another exciting nights racing and we look forward to seeing you there.
